So as an extreme example, you might be able to modify all cells in a human body to contain genes for a second pair of arms, but these genes were probably only active in the first stages of the organisms development. WebSo, in 15-20 years we expect that genetically modifying adult humans will become rather a lot easier and with minimum risks since we are learning about this whole process faster than ever. While genetically engineering one's self would still be expensive, it would take another 10-20 years before the treatment becomes affordable to everyone.
