WebSep 16, 2000 · The Tinetti balance scale (scale of one to 40) is a simple clinical balance which measures characteristics associated with falls. This test assesses balance with 14 items (score out of 24) and gait with ten items (score out of 16) for a total score out of 40, where the higher the score, the better the performance. WebN2 - Gait and balance disorders are among the main predisposing factors of falls in elderly. Clinical scales are widely employed to assess the risk of falling, but they require trained personnel. We investigate the use of objective measures obtained from a wearable accelerometer to evaluate the fall risk, determined by the Tinetti clinical scale.
