New pistons carrying this part number recommend a tight 0.0015" piston to wall clearance. The ones in my engine were laying around from the late 1980's. The same vintage pistons were used in my Dad's truck motor back then, and were set up with 0.004" clearance. That motor went 100k with no piston slap.
